DataTrace data loggers typically stay calibrated for extended periods of time. Protocols for calibration vary from the food to the pharmaceutical industry; however the logger warranty from Mesa Labs for new loggers includes a one year temperature calibration.
1. Parts and Firmware
When a data logger is sent back to Mesa for calibration, the loggers also receive firmware updates with parts (component) replacement in addition to the calibration. The calibration price includes all of this with a new six month warranty. Third party calibration services can not replace parts. What the user receives back from Mesa is essentially a new logger!
2. 10 point calibration
Third party calibration services can not perform a complete calibration, only a one or two point adjustment.Mesa’s calibration service is a complete operating range calibration with the 10 points listed on the NIST Report of Calibration.
3. In some cases, it is necessary to use Mesa for calibration
Humidity and Pressure loggers cannot be temperature adjusted by the customer or third parties. Humidity loggers can be adjusted in the field with a one or two point humidity only adjustment, but Pressure Loggers must be sent back to Mesa for both temp and pressure calibrations.
